If you have ever had your heart set on emulating the lifestyle of antiques dealer Lovejoy from the famous television show, then now is your chance.
The only drawback is that it will cost you the best part of £1million.
Hall Barn in Preston St Mary was regularly visited by Lovejoy – played by Ian McShane – for the comedy-drama which was screened on the BBC in the 1980s and 1990s, as it was the home of his love interest Charlotte.
The 16th century property has now gone up for sale for £975,000.
Alex Davies, sales negotiator at David Burr, which is marketing the house, said interest in the property had come from far a wide.
“We have had viewings from all over the place and there has been quite a lot of international interest,” he said.
“We had a viewing from America and have had lots of people get in contact through our London office.”
Mr Davies said given the famous connection to the property, which dates back to 1520 and has been on the market since mid-May, he expected it to be snapped up quickly.
“Interest has been very good and we are hopeful that a deal will be agreed very soon,” he said.
“The vendors told us straight away that the house was used in Lovejoy and even pointed out where he would have sat in the living room.”
The property, a barn conversion, has six bedrooms and four reception rooms as well as a hand-built staircase and an outdoor wine store.
It is set in grounds of 1.6acres and has mature gardens, a summer house and stables.
At its peak, Lovejoy attracted nearly 15million viewers.
