After expanding the business by opening a new function room, Fanny Anne’s Tearoom in Long Melford held a grand opening last week.
Singing group The Cordettes performed classic songs, as the café is based on the 1940s, with staff in traditional waitress costume.
Owner Linda McPherson said: “We base our tea room on the 40s to which we are very popular with the senior citizens, as our theme brings back a lot of memories for them.”
Offering breakfasts and lunches, and priding themselves on their special cream teas, Mrs McPherson said they decided to expand so the business could grow and they could offer new services,
“We can now offer a venue room to hire, we have already had a hen party in and we hope to offer the room for baby showers, birthdays and anniversaries,” she said.
“And because we are now licensed we can offer a licensed bar with the venue.”
The tea rooms are open seven days-a-week.
