A Great Cornard nursery is planning a big celebratory fete on Saturday, August 3, to mark its 10th anniversary – and the third year in a row it has received an ‘outstanding’ rating from Ofsted.
Crocus nursery, which is based on the site of Thomas Gainsborough School, looks after 140 pre-school children, as well as running holiday clubs. It has 20 staff.
Manager Jo Hayes said: “We wanted to do something to celebrate what we have achieved and the fact that this is our third outstanding Ofsted report.
“It’s an open invitation for anyone associated with the nursery – past or present – to come along and join us. There will be lots of fun children’s activities and all the money raised with go the nursery’s Bright Horizons Foundation.
“We hope to have a great time. There’s a separate thank you event for staff in September.”
Ofsted described the nursery as warm and welcoming and said the staff went to “considerable lengths” to ensure children’s needs were met. The event runs from 11am to 3pm.
