A SUDBURY care home has praised its supporters, who in raising hundreds of pounds throughout the year, helped residents enjoy a festive Christmas.
Staff from Catchpole Court in Walnut Tree Lane, which provides care for dementia sufferers and the elderly, have been involved in a series of fundraising activities over the past 12 months including, walks, runs and cycles.
Money raised from the events has been ploughed into the home’s residents fund allowing it to organise trips and entertainment.
During this month the money has been vital with residents attending a Christmas party at Colchester United Football Club, enjoying the visit of various primary schools in the area to sing carols and a pantomime laid on by staff.
Ann Roche, activities leader at the home, said the Christmas period had demonstrated the importance of the fund.
“December has been extremely busy and well worth it,” she said.
“We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped and supported the home in various ways, as we could not have done it without all of them.”
Mrs Roche added that a number of activities had already been planned for the New Year for residents to look forward to.
