Cavendish Community Shop is selling special cards to mark the anniversary of the end of World War Two.

The cards, costing 50p pay tribute also to Lady Sue Ryder and Grp Capt Leonard Cheshire, who lived in the village for many years, setting up and running a charity which provided homes for those returning from the concentration camps. The cards have been specially designed and help to pinpoint the graves of the two, which are not in the churchyard, but in the village cemetery, accessed via the Lychgate. Shop is open 6am-5pm daily and 6-2pm Sundays.
