VERA Gibson is enjoying the fruits -and vegetables - of her membership of the Sudbury Reward Card, a loyalty card for shoppers.
Mrs Gibson, of Lower Road, The Lavenham, recently won the monthly prize draw organised by the scheme. She will now receive weekly vegetable boxes delivered to her door by The Organic Box, a Newton Green retailer which is part of the loyalty card scheme supported by Sudbury Town Council.
More than 40 shops and businesses in and around Sudbury are part of the reward card, run by Sudbury Market Town Partnership in association with Waitrose. It is supported by the Suffolk Free Press.
The shops and business offer discounts and incentives for being a card member and thousands of cards, at £1 a time, have been sold.
Each month the scheme runs a prize draw and the latest prize on offer is a two-course dinner for two at The Secret Garden in Friars Street, Sudbury, which has been donated by Bright Financial Planning, of Station Road, Sudbury.
The Partnerhsip is organising an apple pressing day next Thursday, October 13, between 10.30am and 1.30pm in front of St Peter’s near the the Gainsborough Statue.
Project manager Jane Hatton said: ”The idea is so that anyone can bring their apples together with a container and get their apples pressed free of charge.
“It will also be an opportunity for people to come and find out more about the Sudbury Market Town Partnership and what we do as well as Transition Sudbury and District, and how they can get involved.”
