A Glemsford woman who shed five stone after her weight caused problems during her pregnancy has taken over as a slimming group consultant.
Kath Hampshire, 31, from Kings Road, was unable to have the type of birth she wanted for her daughter Maisie in October 2011 as she was judged to be at high risk by doctors.
Having struggled with her weight for many years, including being bullied as a child, Kath rejoined Slimming World – having previously joined and quit the group some years earlier – and has so far dropped five stone in two years.
“I exercise daily and now have a lot more energy to play with my children,” said Mrs Hampshire, who lives with husband Matt and children Maisie and nine-year-old Ella.
Inspired by her own success, she has taken on the role of consultant for a Slimming World group in Great Cornard.
“The group has not had a consultant for some time,” she said.
“I’ve just relaunched my evening group and am looking forward to relaunching the morning group on October 23 and seeing lots of new members.”
Mrs Hampshire’s Slimming World groups run at Sudbury Rugby Club in Spicer Way, Great Cornard, every Wednesday at 9.30am and also at 7.30pm.
