The owner of two fish and chip shops is hoping his third shop will be ready to open in Sudbury today.
Mick Ladak, who owns Mick’s Fish and Chips in Applegate Mews, Great Cornard, and Landsdown Road, Sudbury, took over the tenancy of premises in Borehamgate precinct, previously occupied by Peyton Plaice, in April .
Following extensive works to the shop, Mr Ladak said he hoped his newest site would be serving customers from today.
“We have done quite a bit – the front has been completely retiled and had new lights fitted so it has been a lot of work,” said Mr Ladak.
He said he had hoped to be open earlier but “gremlins” during the refurbishment had caused minor delays.
“I’m hoping there should be two full-time and two or three part-time staff working there,” said Mr Ladak.
“It has been shut for a long time, so once people realise we are open and in business again we can look at the staff levels.”
Mr Ladak added that he had tried to copy the appearance and menu from his other shops for the new takeway.
“People will see a number of faces from the Great Cornard shop while we train new staff so they can feel comfortable,” he said. “Hopefully customers will feel they are getting the same quality and service, no matter what shop they are in.”
