TEN new jobs have been created after a Sudbury pub re-opened its doors following refurbishment.
The Maldon Grey in Cats Lane has been given a new look after owners Greene King and landlord Steve Watmough decided to transform the building inside to provide a more community feel.
A new menu has been devised and jobs for bar and kitchen staff have been created.
Mr Watmough, who has been landlord at the pub for the last eight years, said the work had helped give the business a new lease of life.
“The pub is now a real hub for the community,” he said. “It’s bright, modern and most of all welcoming – there’s something for everyone.”
Food is now available all day, every day, with a traditional roast served on Sunday and regular events and activities for all the community.
Mike O’Conner, business development manager at Greene King, said: “The end result is fantastic.
“Steve is an experienced and enthusiastic operator who will work very hard to make the pub the heart of the community following this investment.”
