Staff at a well known family-run hotel in Suffolk are celebrating a double awards triumph.

The AA four star Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa, at Leavenheath, which employs 190 people, have just won two honours at the prestigious county Tourism and Hospitality awards.

We were really thrilled to receive both of these awards.

Susanna Rendall, managing director

The awards were for Best Hotel 2015 and Best Business Tourism Venue 2015.

The 80-bedroom golf and spa resort, which also boasts five luxury self-catered country lodges and two championship golf courses set in 300 acres, was shortlisted for the Best Hotel award with the Radisson Blue Hotel at Stansted and Down Hall Country House Hotel.

For the Business Tourism award the hotel was competing with Colchester Zoo and Southend Royal Pavilion.

Susanna Rendall, managing director of Stoke by Nayland, said: “We were really thrilled to receive both of these awards, especially as the competition was very tough.

“We would particularly like to thank all of our 190 staff for their hard work and invaluable contribution to the success of our hotel business.

She added: “It is wonderful that all of their efforts have been recognised in this way.”

The hotel will now be entered in the national Visit England Tourism and Hospitality Awards which will be presented in London next year.
