Shake-up at town firm

ONE of Sudbury’s largest employers has announced a shake-up of its board of directors in order to focus on future growth.

Robert Audley has stepped down as chief executive of marketing company Prolog and reverted to the role of executive chairman.

Fellow director Ian Dignum has left the company, which employs around 400 people in Sudbury, after 16 years.

Prolog’s chief operating officer Darshana Bawa has been promoted to the position of joint managing director, along with Guy Smith, who returns to the company after eight years working for competitors.

Mrs Bawa said: “The driving force behind these changes is a focus on sales and new business – it is most definitely a positive thing.

“Robert can step back from the day-to-day and focus on growth strategies. Guy has a strong sales background and, as we’ve lost business recently, this will allow him to replace that as well as generate new business,” she added.

She explained that Mr Dignum had left because he felt it was time to move on following these changes to the management structure.

Prolog announced 60 job cuts last month after losing a contract with TalkTalk, but is set to create 500 jobs by 2015 after its £50million plans for Chilton were approved in May.
