Hadleigh’s swimming pool opened its doors to customers on Saturday to reveal the new facilities its boss says will bring “a new lease of life.”

The centre, renamed Hadleigh Pool and Leisure, has had £2.4million invested in it by Babergh District Council over the last year to provide a 30-station fitness centre, new changing rooms, two community centres and a treatment room, alongside the existing 25-metre pool.

Tracey Copping, chief executive of South Suffolk Leisure which runs the centre, said: “When we opened on Saturday morning, the swimming pool was busier than ever.”
