Leavenheath residents have objected to altered plans for a proposed bungalow, now to be built with a first floor.

Under the scheme, a three-bedroom, detached, two-storey dwelling will be built on land south of Poplars, in High Road.

Original plans for a single-storey building with a garage were passed in 2012.

Work has stopped, however, as the applicant wants to extend the property into the eaves, requiring the approval of Babergh District Council.

Four residents have objected, saying it would be “harmful to the character of the area” and would overlook other homes.

The changes have been recommended for approval by council officers.
