The Sudbury Christmas fair and lights switch on was described as a great success by town council staff, with a bumper crowd in attendance.
The lights were switched on by the mayor Sue Ayres and the winner of this year’s Christmas card competition, Safyie Orman from Pot Kiln Primary School.
During the evening carols were played around the Christmas tree by the Salvation Army while Sudbury Choral Society sang carols in St Peter’s.
There was also a Christmas craft fair inside the former church and various stalls outside in North Street and the Market Hill.
Attractions included a mobile synthetic ice skating rink, an inflatable bouncy snow globe and various fairground attractions.
There was also a circus workshop, spectacular fire display by FireFlow, entertainment from the Phoenix Suffolk Community Marchers plus a visit by Santa, while Elsa and Anna from Frozen were on hand to say hello.
This year the town is lit by new lighter, more energy efficient bulbs.
