Bulmer schoolboy Buddy Dobinson had an art lesson with a difference when local artist Vernon Lever visited his school to show him and his friends how to draw.

Pupils at St Andrew’s Primary School got the chance to paint cartoon characters on a canvas. Buddy is pictured putting his finishing touches to Donald Duck.

Artist Vernon, whose watercolour painting of Sudbury’s Common Lands features on souvenirs of the town, was invited to do a whole school art project. The children’s work went on display at the school’s fete.
