Three members of a village hall committee are planning to walk across the roof of the Millennium Dome in London to raise money.
Julian Fincham-Jacques and Veronica and Robert Hobbs, all from Boxford, will complete the sponsored challenge to raise as much money as possible for improvements to Boxford Village Hall, in Stone Street Road.
The committee has spent £20,000 in the last two years carrying out repairs and improvements to the hall, including installing new windows and putting in a toilet for disabled people,
Money from the dome walk, which takes place on May 12 at 1pm, will be used to sand and seal the hall floor, costing around £2,000.
“We raised £3,000 from our previous sponsored event which was an abseil at Ipswich Hospital,” said Mrs Hobbs. “I don’t like heights, so it was quite a challenge.”
The group will take 90 minutes to walk across the 164-foot high dome, wearing a safety harness clipped on to a rail.
