THE new chairman of Babergh District Council has announced that a Sudbury project will be one of his two chosen charities.
Nick Ridley will take over as chairman of the authority in May and has selected The Bridge Project in Gainsborough Street and St Nicholas Hospice in Ipswich as his chosen charities for the year.
Mr Ridley, who replaces David Wood in the role, said he was pleased to be able to help the cause.
“I have visited The Bridge Project on several occasions and have been very impressed by its support for disadvantaged adults in the community.”
Money raised from any future fundraisers will be split between the two.
