Alumni of the old Sudbury High School for Girls will be able to reminisce with a new book written and published by former pupils.

The book of memories includes photos and stories from throughout the school’s history, from its opening in the 1920s to its transformation into Uplands Middle School in the 1970s.

Joyce Willis, chairman of the old students association, said the book had a particular importance with the recent demolition of school building.

The group is holding a reunion on Saturday at St Gregory’s Church, Sudbury, from 3pm, with a service followed by tea.

Any former pupils are invited to attend.

Books will be available at the event for £4.50.

Alternatively you can call Mrs Willis on 01473 823165 or email her at willisjm@lineone.net to order a copy.

Originally a fee paying school, it later became the secondary school for female pupils in the town who passed their 11+ before being turned into the middle school.
