Five bobbies will set off on a mammoth cycling fundraiser on Sunday – riding 400 miles in four days.
They are joining 63 policemen and women from all over Suffolk for the force’s annual fundraiser called Bobby on a Bike – this year in aid of the charity Saffa.
Taking part are Inspector Andrew Mason, from Newton, Pc Barry Simpson, from Sudbury, Pc Scott Lee-Ames, from Little Cornard, and Sgt Paul Ward and Pc Jennie Ward, a husband and wife team from Great Cornard. They will start from Aldeburgh and finish in Wales, camping overnight along the way. “It is going to be quite a challenge,” said Insp Mason.
