More than £500 will be split between two charities following the fundraising exploits of a Sudbury girl.

Niamh Dines, 15, from Chantry Close, had all her hair shaved off at Fanboo salon on Thursday to raise money for Home Start South Suffolk and District and the Mouth Cancer Foundation. In total, she raised £575.

“I am still getting used to my new look and I can’t stop stroking my head,” said Niamh. “I am really pleased to have raised so much and people have said I look like Jessie J, but I can’t see the resemblance.”

Niamh’s mum, Katherine, volunteers at Home Start and she has a relative fighting oral cancer.
