Organisers of an open day at St Peter’s on Market Hill in Sudbury have put out a call for buskers to come forward.

The former church will be open all day for an exhibition explaining the role of the Friends of St Peter’s, the group which helps maintain the church.

But organisers want to hear from performers interested in taking part in a programme of entertainment outside St Peter’s.

Heather Clayton, from the Friends group, said: “We have planned some entertainment including buskers – be they musicians, comedians, street statues, jugglers – in the style of London’s Covent Garden.

“Anyone interested in taking part can contact me at heatherclayton6@gmail.com.”

Each session will be 20 minutes, and buskers must be 16 years or over. Organisers say they can accept donations from the public.
