Art award for village school

CAVENDISH Primary School has been celebrating after receiving a national award for arts provision.

The Artsmark award is given to schools which demonstrate commitment to the creative arts within a curriculum and through school events.

Headteacher Cheryl Wass said: “I’d like to say ‘well done’ to all the children and a big thankyou to our staff, all of whom should be justifiably proud of their achievements.”

After submitting an application form and audit, the school was visited by an inspector, who spoke to staff, governors and children to assess the quality of work produced.
