Three men have been arrested in connection with a ram raid at a Glemsford post office.

A 47-year-old from Great Cornard, a 29-year-old from Beccles and a 27-year-old of no fixed address were all arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary yesterday (Thursday). Police also want to talk to the men about a number of other burglaries which have taken place across the county.

The ram raid at Broadway Stores in Fair Green occurred at around 4.30am on Sunday and saw a cash machine dragged from the shop, using a piece of rope and a stolen Toyota Hilux.

Despite causing damage to the front of the store, the raiders failed to escape with any cash.

The men were arrested in Norfolk and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre to be interviewed by detectives.
