Another by-election is set to take place in Long Melford in July after the resignations of Ann Moreton and Steve (Spud) Dudden from the village’s parish council for personal reasons.

Graham Eade, who was recently re-elected as the council’s chairman, said an election was likely to take place in July.

The parish council is organising a community litter pick that takes place in Long Melford on Sunday, between 10am and 2pm.

Volunteers are needed to help clear areas including Hall Street, Bull Lane, Cordell Road/Place, Southgate/Station Rd, Rodbridge, The Green/Westgate and High St.

Organisers have asked volunteers to let them know in advance if they can help in any of the areas.

The pick will meet at the parish council office in Hall Street,CO10 9HZ at 10am.

Litter picking equipment will be supplied by the parish council.

Please take your own waterproof and heavy duty gloves.
