COMMUNITY fundraisers swung into action to the sound of music and made £1,200 for good causes.

Glemsford Angels were over the moon with the result of their annual swing extravaganza evening at the village social club.

And for the third year running, singer Ben Jenkins travelled from Wales to perform for free.

“It was a wonderful evening of music including songs by Sinatra and Buble, plus dinner and dancing,” said Angels chairman Fiona Dinning-Cole.

“We are very grateful to the businesses who helped make the first prize a stunning package worth £300 – these included Angela Pumo, Melford Valley Tandoori, SJB Taxis and The New Barbers.”
