CHRISTMAS trees decorated by school children, Brownies, a pub and other community members filled St Andrew’s Church in Great Yeldham for its annual tree festival.
More than 30 trees were entered into the competition which attracted hordes of visitors and raised around £600 towards the church’s running costs last weekend.
Barbara Payne, who helped organise the festive festival, said: “It was very good. It was better than previous years and we managed to raise more money as well.
“We also had a steady stream of visitors who came to see the trees.”
Villager Jan Woods won the best tree title with her Angel Delight tree, decorated with angels, while Barbara, a church warden, came runner-up with her tree entitled “Snow has fallen all around us”.
