Organisers of the Hadleigh Show, which takes place on Saturday, are reporting a significant rise in the number of livestock class entries this year.
“The number of entries shows a real energy around this year’s show”, she said. “For many farmers, the 2013 winter has been very tough but there is also a recognition that compared with many other regions, Suffolk has had it relatively easy.
“This is why it was decided to make a £1,000 donation to the hill farmers through RABI a charity providing support for members of the farming community for all the hardship they have, and continue to endure, with the livestock losses from bad weather.
“Surplus profit made from the show generally go to local charities, but this year we felt we should make an exception,” she added.
The show takes place on at Holbecks Park on May 18, from 8am. For more information, go to the show’s website www.hadleighshow.co.uk
