Pupils from Wells Hall Primary School in Sudbury were among 6,000 children from 50 schools taking part in a two kilometre fun run at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London recently.
Nine schools from Suffolk, including Wells Hall, were invited to join the run organised by the GO Run For Fun Campaign, aimed at getting as many children between the age of five and 10 running.
The event was supported by athletes, including Olympic decathlon gold medal winner Daley Thompson.
Wells Hall head teacher Alastair Robinson said: “There were 23 children from Years Four and Five who went along, and they all had a fantastic day and really enjoyed themselves.
“They also met Daley Thompson. We are all very proud of them,” he added.
Around 85,000 children have taken part in the GO Run For Fun Campaign with the aim to get 100,000 UK children running by next year.
