The annual Hadleigh Show is set to return next month as the Year of the Sheep celebrations begin.

Preparations are under way for the one-day spectacle at Holbecks Park on May 16.

The showpiece, which began in 1840, is one of the oldest agricultural shows in the country, with 2015 marking the 176th event.

This year, Hadleigh’s Year of the Sheep is set to launch, with a focus on all things woolly, including The Sheep Show – a humorous and educational live stage show.

The show will feature more than 160 trade stalls and a food hall filled with the best local produce.

Ringside entertainment includes the Inch Perfect Motorcycle Trials Display team, the Young Farmers Tug-O-War and falconry displays.
