Jason Fulbrook, who was appointed a Great Cornard parish councillor for Labour in the May 2011 elections, has been ejected from the council after failing to attend a single meeting in the last six months.
Council clerk Michael Fitt said that due to Mr Fulbrook’s employment commitments, he had not been able to get to the meetings. He had been told that the December meeting would be his last chance to attend, but again failed to put in an appearance.
Mr Fitt said: “I have to declare a vacancy to Babergh District Council. There is a defined number of days during which electors from the south ward can declare a by-election. If not, then we will be able to co-opt someone.”
