Kentwell Hall was in full festive spirit this weekend... Dickensian Christmas spirit that is.
The Long Melford stately home hosted a weekend of Victorian Christmas magic, with Charles Dickens story tellers including Victorian illusions, a very special period Father Christmas and Victorian characters throughout the home and grounds.
Despite the cold and wet weather, around 400 visitors were entertained with plenty to do and see.
“We think it went pretty well and the public seemed to have a really good time which is what it’s all about,” said Patrick Phillips, who owns the house with his wife Judith.
Among the many attractions were the Victorian music hall and tavern and the chance to ‘look through the cupboard’.
The Professor’s home in the recent The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe film was based on Kentwell Hall.
Kentwell’s Magical Christmas continues this weekend.
