Bar owners who banned smoking a year before a national ban comes into force are considering reversing the decision.
Customers at Danny's Bar in Sudbury are being asked if they want to light up again after growing resistance to the nightspot's smoke-free stance.
If the customers vote in favour then they will be able to light up again until the ban comes into place in all pubs next July.
Bar manager Simon Thompson said: "The majority of our customers were delighted with the ban earlier this year as those that preferred to smoke were more than happy to do it outside.
"But as winter hits us, more and more of our regulars are starting to resent being forced outside into the cold."
He added the bar had experienced a new lease of life since the ban, looking cleaner and brighter.
"The difference in atmosphere is fantastic, but we're forced into a bit of a quandary as colder times and Christmas approach. We may need to rethink the decision."
He added the bar team would be asking customers to give them their opinion on whether or not he bar should remain a smoke-free zone.
A petition can be found at the bar and a voting form online at

Whatever the result, the bar would reflect the wishes of its customers, said Mr Thompson.
