Police are hunting for a man who attempted to get a young girl into his car in Hadleigh.

The 13-year-old was walking along Angel Street when the man, driving a burgundy Ford Escort, parked and beckoned her to his car at about 7.30pm on Tuesday evening.

A police spokesman said the man then asked her a series of "inappropriate" questions before driving off.

He is described as white, with a tanned complexion, about 40 years old, of slim build with short brown hair. He was wearing a football shirt and jeans.

Anyone who spots this man or has any information should call Pc Anne Hart on 01473 613500 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
