Tickle the Ugly Spider and Stinky the Pig will be leaving their classroom home and meeting the public next week.
They are among characters in picture books produced by pupils at Clare Middle School which will go on display at the town's library for a fortnight.
The books – put together by 12-year-olds as part of a writing day – so impressed the school's librarian Sue Hale that she thought they deserved a wider audience.
Now they will be available for children to look at from July 29 until August 12 at Clare library.

Said Sue: "I showed them to the Clare Library manager when she was in school to talk about their summer reading scheme.

"There are 12 books in all. The girls have used things like textured fabrics on some of the pages, and moving eyes. They are aimed at children aged from about three to five. I thought the girls had done such a good job it would be nice if people outside school could see their work."
