A MARTIAL arts school for children and adults in Sudbury Kuk Sool Won has won more than £900 worth of grants to purchase training equipment for the club.

The money has come from Suffolk County Council and Young Suffolk, which supports organisations which work with children and young people in Suffolk.

A new crash mat and a six-foot long kicktube have been purchased to help the students with their training, learning advanced falls and jump kicks, and the new equipment was recently presented to the club.

The grant money will also go towards a free summer camp for all students, which is being held in July.

Ellie Pidsley, Young Suffolk western area co-ordinator presented the equipment at one of the club’s regular Thursday night classes at AFC Sudbury.

She said: “It’s a delight to see how the equipment can be used and to meet the kids and to see how excited they are about having it.”

Kuk Sool Won Sudbury has just opened new beginners’ sessions at Sudbury Upper School on Tuesdays evenings, between 7pm and 9pm, and at AFC Sudbury on Thursdays at the same time.

All ages and abilities are welcome to join and for more information contact Dr Karen Smith on 07751 932 408 or see www.kuksool.co.uk
