Hall Street in Long Melford was buzzing with activity for the eighth annual street fair.
The road was closed to traffic for most of Saturday evening as hundreds wandered around the stalls and activities.

Attractions included a demonstration of car cutting by Long Melford firefighters, line dancing, children's games and competitions, and a parade.

Parish clerk Linda Goodban said: "It was, as it has always been, a wonderful evening for the whole community.

"The street fair really brings people together and a lot of work goes into it which pays off and makes it a really good night."

But work was not over the village fire crew ... they were called to Chips and Chopstix to deal with a chip pan fire at around 10pm.

Long Melford fire fighters had only just finished packing away their demo equipment when they went to tackle the fire.

Mrs Goodban said: "People thought they might be coming back to do another demo before realising this one was for real."
