Sudbury pub divide

THE owner of a vacant Sudbury pub is seeking permission to divide the building into four separate units.

The Pied Cow, in King Street, has been unused since 2009. It is owned by property developer Barry Drury, who has applied to Babergh District Council for permission to create four retail units.

The alterations would have no impact on the outside appearance of the 17th century pub.

Mr Drury wants to create smaller units to attract a wider variety of businesses after limited interest in the site.

A decision is expected by September 28.
