Pilgrims to mark the returning of Edmund

A group of 18 intrepid pilgrims are to walk 85 miles in five days to mark the 1,000th anniversary of St Edmund’s body being returned to Suffolk.

The walkers will complete the Earls Colne to Sudbury section of their route today – stopping at St Stephen’s Chapel in Bures at midday.

Tomorrow’s final leg will take them from London to Bury St Edmunds after staying at St John’s Church overnight.
