CAN YOU HELP: Joyce Mulley and husband Malcolm from Long Melford are seeking information about their page boy 50 years after they were married.

A COUPLE who married in Long Melford 50 years ago are hoping someone can help them get in touch with the little boy who was their page boy.

Andrew McDoodle was a Dr Barnado’s child who lived at Montgomery House in Long Melford, where Joyce Mulley worked as a nurse.

When she married husband Malcolm on September 22 1962, she chose Andrew to be their page boy.

The couple moved to Australia a few years later but will be returning to the area for a visit this summer.

Mr Mulley said: “We would very much like to make contact with Andrew if possible to see how his life has turned out.

“His name was Andrew McDoodle but it could have been changed to his adopted parents’ name. We know that they lived in Snetterdon in Norfolk.

“He would be at least 55 years old now,” he added.
