Top award for photographer

A GREAT Cornard photographer has spoken of his pride after receiving a top accolade for his work.

Kevin Pengelly, from Layzell Croft, was recently awarded a Fellowship by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP).

The honour is seen as the highest award in the photography field and shows that a member of BIPP has demonstrated exceptional ability and creativity.

“This is the result of many years of hard work and some fantastic images,” said Mr Pengelly, who specialises in wedding photography.

“It is humbling to receive this kind of recognition from my peers.”

Chris Harper, chief executive of BIPP, paid tribute to the standards Mr Pengelly had reached.

“A professional photographer awarded a Fellowship has reached the top of our qualification structure,” he said.

“The award is only given to photographers who have submitted an exceptional panel of images, and proved they have not only mastered techniques in lighting, composition and post-production, but also demonstrated an individual sense of creativity and style.”
