Summer sport kicks-off

SUMMER holiday sport sessions will get under way in Great Cornard next week.

Starting on Wednesday, Great Cornard Sports Centre in Head Lane will be holding turn-up-and-play activities, including trampolining, tennis, football, cycling and basketball. There will also be kite making and arts sessions.

The following week, from August 6 to 10, Olympic-style events, including tennis and paralympic sport boccia, will be held at Hadleigh Leisure Centre.

Sue Longhurst, Babergh’s community development officer, said: “The sessions, which are open to children of all abilities, will be packed full of fun and children will be learning new skills at the same time.”

The sessions are open for children aged between eight and 14. For more information, go to www.babergh.gov.uk or call 01473 826622.
