Polish your stage skills

ASPIRING teenage performers can hone their acting, singing and dancing skills at a three-day summer school at Sudbury’s Quay Theatre.

It is the first time the theatre has run a summer school for people aged between 16 and 19 year-old – and organisers hope it will tempt back some previous students as well as talented newcomers.

“The summer school provides the chance to learn and refine performance skills in acting, movement and music through classes, workshops and performance,” said a theatre spokesman.

They will be working towards a show called Grimm Tales, inspired by the famous stories of the Brothers Grimm and devised by participants and tutors.

But it could well produce versions of the tales that are more modern, adult, or darker than the originals.

The class runs from August 21 to 23, and all students will be involved in the final performance at 6pm on the Thursday.

Places cost £60 each, and tickets for the show will be on sale at £6 for adults or £4 for children.
