No need to be gruff
HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU KID: Eli Pringle-Green, three, from Long Melford, meets a rare breed goat.
THE summer holidays may now be under way but children visiting Sudbury town centre on Tuesday had no reason to be complaining of boredom.
A range of stalls and activities filled St Peter’s and Market Hill as a specially arranged event designed to give youngsters something to do was staged.
Rare breed goats in a petting zoo proved a hit with children, a “ruggerbugs” stall challenged those skilful enough to take a rugby conversion and ice-cream was eaten by the bucket load.
Jackie Rawlinson, from Sudbury, who organised the event, said: “I wanted to do something to stop people saying there is nothing for children to do in Sudbury.
“With this event, there is so much going on and we had a huge queue for people to get in. It’s been a real success.”
Mrs Rawlinson said she planned to run the event on a yearly basis.
