Inspiration for poets

YOUNG poets were given words of wisdom from a children’s author during a visit to Sudbury Library.

More than 20 children attended a Sunday morning poetry session with Margaret Moore, author of Short Poems for Little People, at the weekend.

During the session, Mrs Moore read poems from her book and also some of her latest work.

“It was a really good morning and the children loved the poems – they were laughing out loud,” said Rachel Taylor, the Sunday officer at the library on Market Hill.

“The children love writing poems because they are short and easy to write and it was lovely of Margaret to come along.”

The library is currently running a “make your own book” competition and Mrs Moore helped youngsters with their own poems and stories.

Prizes for the best books will be given out by the Sudbury Society later in the year.
