Final beckons for foursome

A SUDBURY singing quartet say they are ready for their shot at stardom as they prepare for the final of a national talent contest.

The Story Boys, a band made up of four pupils from Sudbury Upper School will be playing at the last stage of Live & Unsigned - the country’s biggest singing competition - at London’s O2 Arena next Saturday.

Max Bridges and Steven Barker, both 18, along with Jamie Hicks and Alfie Row, 15, won through after travelling to the Area Finals at Bedford Corn Exchange with a contingent of more than 60 family and friends and wowing watching judges with their acoustic hip hop style last month.

“We are really looking forward to the final and it should be a lot of fun,” said Jamie, the band’s lead singer.

“When we started we never expected to get this far and it is like we have already won.”

The foursome have already claimed a slot at the Brownstock festival in Chelmsford on the back of their performances in the contest.
