Artist gives a creative masterclass
STREET ART: Artist Leon Henderson was on hand to show off his talents at the Bridge Project.
A GRAFFITI artist gave a creative masterclass to a group of students, teaching them how to express themselves through art.
Ten students from the Sudbury-based Bridge Project, which provides support and space for vulnerable young adults, were given top tips on graffiti art by artist Leon Henderson. The event was organised by students from the project and was hailed a great success.
Lesley Lewis, Bridge Project tutor, said: “People who had never thought of themselves as artistic were thrilled with the work they created. “It was a truly happy day for everyone,” he said.
Despite the soggy weather, Leon showed the eager group a number of different skills and techniques, and then invited them to try a design out for themselves on paper.
The group then transferred these designs on to large boards, using a spectrum of colours and different styles.
