YOUNG buccaneers will be swashbuckling their way along the River Stour over the bank holiday weekend.

The River Stour Trust is running free boat trips from The Granary in Quay Lane, Sudbury, for all children aged under 12 dressed as pirates on Monday.

The annual event will take place from 11am to 4pm, with boats packed with pirate crews leaving every 30 minutes.

Proceeds from the day will go towards the restoration and conservation of the River Stour Navigation.
