A THREE-DAY art festival will be held in Lavenham next weekend.
During the event, which runs over the bank holiday from May 5 to 7, a total of 15 artists will open up their studios in the village to demonstrate their skills.
People will also be able to try their hand at pottery, sculpting and painting in the Market Place.
All the village’s galleries will be putting on special displays, with the Guildhall holding exhibitions and the Lavenham Arts Society setting up its own show featuring paintings and drawings from schoolchildren.
Lesley Thompson, one of the organisers, said the village was making up for lost time having never previously held an art show.
“The emphasis will be on combining art and fun,” she said.
The festival will be officially opened by John Foster, from the BBC’s Antiques Roadshow, at a private viewing on May 4.
The event is free to enter and programmes pinpointing the location of galleries will be available. For more information, visit www.discoverlavenham.co.uk.
