Glemsford Black Lion still rooted to bottom of table

The biggest losers in the Clare Summer Cribbage League this week were basement dwellers Glemsford Black Lion, who lost 10-5.

Their journey to Stoke-by-Clare Lion ended with a thumping defeat, which keeps them firmly on the bottom of the table, losing all five points.

Leaders Glemsford Social Club opened a three-point gap at the top with a 9-6 win at Cavendish Bull, winning on all three tables. The Bull held on to their fifth spot.

In the derby clash at the Melford Working Men’s Club, both teams won a table 3-2, but the third table went to the A team 4-1 to give them a 9-6 win and four points.

This result dropped the B team to fourth.

Clare Bell moved into second place with a 9-6 victory at home over visitors Stoke-by-Clare Lion B.

There was no change to the bottom four places.
