A Sudbury fundraiser pushed his body to the limit to complete a 12-hour treadmill challenge.

Mark Wright, from Uplands Road, finished the marathon ordeal at the town’s Kingfisher Leisure Centre on Monday night. But the 31-year-old, who is hoping to take part in a desert trek across Jordan for Prostate Cancer UK next year, later collapsed from exhaustion.

He was taken to West Suffolk Hospital by ambulance and discharged on Tuesday morning.

“It all went very well apart from that – I just wasn’t drinking the right fluids,” said Mark, who works at Winch & Blatch and recently lost five stone.

“But it was still worth it as I raised £85 towards the trek,” he added.
